Full Color X-Stitch from your photographs.
These are only for the serious thread consumer!
This full-color X-stitch was done on a Designer 1 machine, has
50,000 stitches and 24 different Sulky colors in it.
His name is KuKu and in this picture he was just a few months
old - he is now 4 feet long (just as cute) and almost 4 years old.
How I do it:
 |
This is done by taking the colors in your picture and
matching them up to the best (up to) 24 Sulky thread colors. |
Thread Requirements
 |
Because of the thread requirement, this is only recommended
for the serious thread investor. If you pay about $3 for a spool, then
to buy 24 colors would be $72. I have quite a bit of thread, but found
that when I did these for the first time I needed much more. |
 |
I only use Sulky colors that are at least 1 generation old;
that means that if Sulky just introduced a color, I avoid it until they do
another introduction. I do have the complete list and if you have a
source for all the new colors can easily include them upon request. |
Size Requirements
 |
This picture was done on a Designer 1 machine and is to
large for the standard hoop. This one is 100 X's high and 84 X's wide
- a standard hoop will only handle 60 x 60. |
Time Requirements
 |
I am not going to kid you - this takes some time to stitch
and you will want to clip all threads between each color - that is 24
clipping sessions. For the picture above, it would take about 10
minutes to stitch a color and another 10 minutes or so for me to clip.
In total it took about 5 hours to stitch KuKu. |
